While Governor DeSantis has committed to recommending $805 million for Everglades restoration in the 2025–26 state budget, the Florida House and Senate remain divided on their proposed funding levels. The Senate has proposed $750 million, but the House is only proposing $350 million — less than half.
Even more concerning: funding for the Indian River Lagoon is also on the line. The Senate has recommended $50 million, while the House has proposed zero.
Now is the time to speak up!

Dear Senator,
As a concerned Floridian and someone who deeply values the health of our state’s natural ecosystems, I want to thank you for proposing $750 million in Everglades restoration funding for Fiscal Year 2025–26. Your leadership on this issue is essential to the future of Florida’s water quality, wildlife, and economy.
I urge you to continue standing strong for our environment and support full funding for the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP), as well as additional water quality projects that protect the Indian River Lagoon and St. Lucie Estuary.
These ecosystems are fragile, and their restoration is critical — not only for nature but also for the communities and businesses that depend on clean water. Please continue to advocate for the full $805 million restoration commitment, including dedicated funding for the Indian River Lagoon.
Thank you for your leadership and for working to protect Florida’s environmental future.

Dear Representative,
As a resident of Florida and someone who cares deeply about the future of our waterways and coastal ecosystems, I am writing to express my concern regarding the current budget proposal for Everglades restoration.
While the Governor has recommended $805 million for Fiscal Year 2025–26 — including support for the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) and other vital water quality projects — the House’s proposed allocation of $350 million falls significantly short of what’s needed. Additionally, I am deeply concerned that no funding has been proposed for the Indian River Lagoon, one of our most threatened ecosystems.
The health of the Everglades, the St. Lucie Estuary, and the Indian River Lagoon depends on robust, consistent investment. Without it, we risk setting back years of progress and threatening the well-being of both wildlife and Florida residents.
Please consider increasing support for these critical restoration efforts and help ensure a sustainable future for our environment and economy. Your support will make a meaningful difference.
