Director, Development & Marketing Department - Full Time

The Director of Development and Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing the fundraising programs that support the education, research, and advocacy objectives of Florida Oceanographic Society through the annual operating budget, capital, and endowment funds. The Director of Development & Marketing creates and implements strategic and annual development plans and maintains ongoing productive relationships with donors, supporters, board members, and staff, working in collaboration with the Executive Director & CEO. The Director is also responsible for the marketing, communications, and messaging of the organization across multiple platforms to include diverse audience segments. This role includes facilitating community outreach and engagement with multiple constituents including board members, volunteers, donors, members, and other partners and community organizations.

Senior Aquarist

Florida Oceanographic Society’s Animal Care Team is seeking an energetic, passionate, and dedicated individual to serve as a full-time Senior Aquarist. The Senior Aquarist works as a senior member of the Florida Oceanographic Animal Care & Life Support team, mentoring and aiding all other team members, in addition to day-to-day responsibilities. The desired candidate will be able to work unsupervised and provide leadership in the Director’s absence. Responsibilities include the feeding and husbandry of all aquarium inhabitants (e.g., marine fish, elasmobranchs, and turtles) and their exhibits on site, including a 750,000-gallon lagoon, stingray and invert touch systems, and other aquarium systems displaying the diversity of life and habitats throughout the coastal areas of Southeast Florida.

Operations Assistant

Assist the Operations Manager and work as a member of the Operations Team to perform general operations support and maintenance of all facilities including buildings, exhibits, signs, displays, nature trails, plant nurseries and grounds. Plan and conduct custom repairs to facilities and equipment. Implement and provide reactive and preventative maintenance and custodial services for all administrative offices, gift shop/admissions, restrooms, and all grounds and exhibits areas. Regularly scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays.

Associate, Visitor Services - Full or Part Time

Visitor Services Associates greet visitors and encourage visitors to take part in programs and visitor experiences at the Coastal Center and to become members. Maintain an attractive entrance and exit area at the Coastal Center and keep the admissions and gift shop sales areas well stocked, organized, and neat.
