The most contentious environment bill of this year’s legislative session is heading to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ desk. Most of the language that would have further damaged the health of the St. Lucie River and Indian River Lagoon has been changed. But are the changes strong enough to result in reduced Lake Okeechobee freshwater discharges and harmful toxic algal blooms? Detractors don’t believe so.
