Ocean Protectors' Day
About the Event
Attendees will have the chance to get up close with marine vessels dedicated to protecting our coastal environments. From cutting-edge research vessels to patrol boats, this event is a unique opportunity to learn about the specialized equipment used in marine conservation efforts.
Representatives from organizations including the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Ocean Research and Conservation Association, the Martin County Sheriff's Office, and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration will be present to share insights into their vital work. Visitors will have the chance to interact with these ocean protectors, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the critical role each organization plays in preserving our marine ecosystems.
In addition to exploring the vessels, guests can take part in “arti-fish-ial” fishing and learn more about the local gamefish species they've caught and whether it qualifies as a "keeper" based on size and season. This is an excellent opportunity for families, students, and anyone passionate about environmental conservation to engage with experts in the field.
This community-focused event is open to the public and included with daily admission to the Coastal Center. Join us for a day of fun, education, and appreciation for the dedicated individuals and organizations committed to protecting our coastal treasures.
